And everyone does love a cult, right? Especially from a safe distance. That's exactly why investigative journalist Morgan Delwynn has built her career writing about fringe beliefs and the people who hold them. It's a fun, guilt-free opportunity to indulge a dark fascination.
That changes when convicted cult leader Marshall Kane decides he's fascinated by her, too. What begins as a career-making investigation becomes something far more personal — and what emerges between them is a longing for a man she can't have, and may not be able to trust, but who looks at her worst parts the way she's always wanted to look at them herself.
Upmarket fiction with elements of dark romance and psychological suspense.

About the Author
Megan Mortelle is a debut novelist based just outside Chicago, Illinois. She holds a BA and MA in English and has spent the last several years working in executive education — which means she knows exactly what a corporate cult looks like from the inside.
Everyone Loves a Cult draws on her own experience in a high-control relationship, years of research into group psychology and coercive influence, and a deep, possibly unhealthy familiarity with every NXIVM documentary and biopic ever made.
She believes most misery is optional, that the glass "half full or half empty" question is irrelevant if there's piss in it, and that the best stories are the ones that make you feel a little dangerous.
